Writer's Block and Bad Dreams by Asouka_0_0

Chapter One:

“Awwww, c'mon what's the difference?”

“Akira! It's like saying Takuya can't write!”

“I never said that.”

“Baka, it was a simile.” Katsuya retorted.

“A wha~?” Akira had the best confused faces.

“You know, comparing something using like or as…is a simile…” Akria's face was blank. Nobuto groaned and face-palmed. “Did you ever learn anything while you were in
America ?”

“I learned a lot when we went there!”

“Like what?” Shintarou asked.

“…well…like…I mean, there was a lot to learn…eeto…I learned that 10 dollars is not equivalent to 10 yen.” Four random objects were thrown his way. He let out a scared sound and curled up to defend himself. Takuya walked in the room and stopped short.

“Ano…” Nobuto grinned and patted the seat beside him.

“Have a seat, Takkun, enjoy the show!”

“Show?”

“Ne~ Akira-kun was telling us what he learned in
America .” Takuya rolled his eyes.

“Did you try to give him an English lesson again, Katsu-san?”

“What are you a mind reader?” and several groans met his ears. Three random object were hurled his way. He let out an annoyed sigh and deflected all of the objects with his foot and fist.

“No, I just work here. And I thought EVERYONE worked here. Get your asses up and lets start! I want to go home.” Takuya stated. True, he had been exhausted like never before, but then again, it was Nobuto's fault for keeping him up at all hours of the night talking. “Nobuto you are forthwith banned from my room until I say you can come back.” Nobuto looked shocked and sulked, crossing his arms. “We've been friends forever, Nobuto.” Takuya draped his arms around his shoulder. “I'm just not ready to take the next step with you. I love you, I do, but it's just brotherly love.” Takuya kissed the grimacing, wide-eyed best friend's cheek and was promptly slapped and shoved away. Nobuto made gagging sounds and grabbed his water, drinking it down as fast as he could. “I didn't think you'd get excited with so little contact…gomen, Nocha.”

Three “WHAT?!'s” erupted from the other members. Akira was laughing, Shintarou was in shock and Katsuya was muttering that he knew it all along.

~~

Nobuto awoke with a start and shot straight up in bed. Whoa. That was a weird dream. He was straight?! He shivered. Takuya was just his friend? That was even more strange. He looked down at the man sleeping peacefully and relaxed back onto the bed. His hand stilled his heart and he cuddled next to his lover. He looked so stressed and tired. Even in his sleep he got no rest. Nobuto smirked, betting himself that Takuya was still thinking up the last few lyrics in his sleep to the song he was writing for the new album. He sighed and kissed the sleeping man's creased forehead. Takuya mumbled something incoherent in his sleep and pulled Nobuto into his arms. A few moments later, Nobuto felt lips against his neck, gently kissing. Nobuto pulled back and looked at him. His eyes were half open and trying to close and. Nobuto covered Takuya's eyes with his hand and kissed his lips. The younger man let a victorious smile play at his mouth when he felt Takuya press against the length of his body. They kissed deeply and Takuya confiscated Nobuto's hands, rolling him onto his back. Lightning illuminated the room as they began loving and the rain that hit the window gently became frenzied.

~

Takuya walked into the recording area. Nobuto and Akira were already there and waiting. Takuya placed a chaste kiss on his boyfriend's lips and sat at the computer. He made sure everything was working properly and spoke to Shintarou who was in the booth. Shintarou began playing and there was recording. They had to redo a few parts because his timing missed at the same spot every time. Nobuto noticed his lover becoming frustrated and stood behind him, gently kneading his shoulders. Takuya's head fell back and Nobuto looked into his eyes with a smile. One of the older man's hands reached up and laced into the younger man's hair as Nobuto was brought in for a deep kiss. Akira was used to this type of behavior now, but he could remember when the happy couple announced their relationship to the group. Everyone was shocked, but not really surprised. What surprised them was when they walked in on the two of them screwing in the sound room.

“Please, you two, no repeats of the last time…” Akira mumbled, messing with one of the strings on his guitar. He heard Nobuto laugh quietly.

“Oh, don't worry.” Nobuto smiled at his friend. Thunder rumbled outside the building. “We took care of that this morning…”

“Oh, Kami…spare me the details will you?”

“What?” Takuya asked, smirking. “You don't want to be told about how he-”

“NO! Lalalalala! Not listening to you! Not listening! I'm thinking of chords, lots of chords, fixing this broken string!”

“Good job, Taku…” Nobuto laughed, plopping in the chair next to him. “Maa...where's Katsuya?”

“He went out to get some lunch for everyone.” Takuya replied, writing something on a piece of paper. Their manager walked in, Katsuya behind him. They were talking and laughing about something they saw when they went out. “I guess he's back.”

“I guess so.” Shintarou was on the other side of the plexi-glass holding his hands up as if to ask “are we working or not?!” Takuya was still writing. Nobuto nudged him. “Ne, Shintarou is trying to get your attention.” Takuya looked up and motioned him to come eat.

“Come on.”

“You're so cute.”

“What?”

“You actually told him to come in here and he can't hear you.” Nobuto grinned.

“Oh hush.” Shintarou turned off the lights and came into the recording booth.

“What's for lunch, I'm starving…” He mumbled, rubbing his stomach.

“Potstickers and yakiniku and edamame, rice and…for Nobuto, pizza ye pun and kanoom kai noak garta1.” Katsuya reported.

“Yatta!~”

~

“So what's the meaning behind that?”

“There is no meaning behind it…I was just joking.”

“You never say that to me.”

“I always say that you.”

“You have never said that to me.”

“Look…I was just fooling around with him. You know I didn't mean it like that.”

“No. I don't know that. The way you said it, the way you looked at him, it wasn't a joke.”

~

Nobuto woke up, another bad dream. Two nights in a row. He rubbed his forehead and sat up, then stalked to the kitchen to get a drink. Takuya was at the kitchen bar, working on finishing lyrics again. He smirked and walked up behind him, wrapping his arms around Takuya's neck.

“Are you making progress?” He asked. Takuya kissed the hand below his chin, then looked up at his lover.

“Not much…I can't concentrate on this song…”

“What's the problem?” He moved away and got a glass down from the cabinet and filled it with water. “Anything I can help with?”

Takuya smiled and shook his head no. “I wish there was something you could help me with, but I really just think it's because I have writer's block.”

“Well…” Nobuto sat the empty glass on the counter. “There's plenty of time before we have to start recording…you'll think of something.” Nobuto said gently. “Would you like a drink?” He asked.

“I would love a drink.” Nobuto reached up into the cabinet and brought down a glass.

“How strong?”

“Ee~to.” He thought for a moment. “I'll take a beer.”

“Okay…” Nobuto put the glass away and went to the freezer, pulled out a chilled glass and reached into the fridge for a Sapporo . He opened it and poured some into the glass.

“You're wonderful, thank you.”

“You're wonderful, you're welcome.” Nobuto kissed his cheek. “I'm going back to bed…please don't stay up past three.”

“Hai, hai.” He watched Nobuto disappear down the hall and into the bedroom. He sighed.

“Yosh…” He looked at the paper and picked up the pen. “Ganbare.”
